Palais de Kourdane

Aïn Madhi, Algeria

The Palais de Kourdane is a medieval castle located near Aïn Madhi in Algeria's Laghouat region. Once the residence of the Tidjani family, it features a large hexagonal structure adorned with ceramics, surrounded by French-style gardens and an extensive orchard. Although currently abandoned, the interior was well-preserved as of 1986, showcasing a mother-of-pearl salon and a piano. Notably, it was home to Aurélie Picard, also known as Lalla Yamina Tidjani, a figure celebrated in Roger Frison-Roche's work, Djebel Amour.
