Explore Castles is a non-commercial catalogue of castles, fortresses and palaces across Europe. The information and images shown here are drawn from open sources — chiefly Wikimedia Commons, Wikipedia and Wikidata.

We make our best effort to respect copyright: every photo is stored with a link to its source page, and we retain the author and licence information provided by the source (most images are published under Creative Commons licences). Descriptions and facts are based on the corresponding Wikipedia and Wikidata entries. If attribution is ever incomplete or incorrect, it is an unintentional oversight.
